What is this?

Does anyone know what this is and what it was used for? The handle is hollow but the rest of it is solid.  I think it and its hook is made from bone, but not sure.  It was listed on Ebay as a knitting tool.

H. Raymond print.

I bought this print at a flea market for $5.  It wasn't until a few years later, we found a gold stamp on the lower right hand corner.  It says  Copyright 1900.  The Ullman Mfg. Company  New York.  Does anyone know anything about this artist?  I did a search and found the Ullman Mfg. Company did postcards.   Contact butchiesmom@yahoo.com.

Signature

Signature of H. Raymond, lower left corner of print.

Free at yard sale

This was free in a yard sale box and I said Cool! and took it home.  The signature in lower right corner is Richard Lyons.  The back has brown paper over it and say WEDGEFIELD PICTURES  Stock no.  RS (stamped on it).  I'm just curious about Richard Lyons and Wedgefield Pictures.
